State Troopers Discover Failed Drone Delivery in Virginia

Virginia State Troopers recently discovered a drone in the vicinity of Buckingham Correctional Facility. The drone had a package that contained “marijuana, cocaine, and a cell phone.”

After some commendable investigating, the Troopers have a person of interest in the case.

By looking at the drone’s GPS flight history, the Troopers discovered that the drone had been flown near an apartment complex in Pineville, NC. Additionally, they discovered the drone’s sale on eBay, which synced with the apartment complex in the GPS history.

When police searched the apartment, they discovered several cell phones, potentially for future illegal drone deliveries. No charges have been filed, but state police say that charges are pending and the investigation is ongoing.
